Who We Are
Arewatees is a lifestyle apparel brand on a mission to build peace in the world through African-inspired designs.
We find inspiration in the wealth of stories that abound in our home country Nigeria and the African continent at large. Each collection we release to the world, results from thoughtful collaborations that give form to designs rooted in culture but imbued with a universal appeal.
Our Brand Story
Arewatees was launched in 2016 by Samuel Okopi, our founder and creative director, with a vision to promote peace in Northern Nigeria which had been plagued for years by an insurgency, and religious tensions.
Our first design was a call for a Spirit of Oneness amongst thousands of Nigerians from various ethnic groups that were living, studying, working, or doing business in Northern Nigeria.
The explosive success of that very first design led to a much broader vision to promote a lifestyle of peaceful coexistence not only in Northern Nigeria but all over the World.
Every apparel and accessory from Arewatees tells a story of peace and serves as a reminder that peace can exist anywhere and can be spread through creative designs. We are empowering both young and old with our culturally iconic designs, to express themselves while making a difference.
